Have you ever dreamt of working on films like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Wonder Woman, Jurassic World, God's Own Country, Breathe and Lady Macbeth? Have you recently finished school or university? Do you work in an industry with transferable skills, such as events, logistics, office management or hair and make-up? And do you have some commitment to making films such as student film, community project, runner and/or work experience in TV or film already?
This free to attend boot camp training course, supported by ScreenSkills, takes place over one day and is for anyone looking to break into the world of Feature Films. The Film Boot camp: Get Started in Film will introduce you to how the film industry works and how a film set runs. You will meet experts who’ve worked on films, and receive freelancing and CV advice. You’ll work with two trainers, both highly experienced in these areas.
We are particularly interested in participants looking to work in Hair/Make-up, Art Department, Costume, Floor/AD, Locations, Production Office, Cameras, Sound, Lighting and Editing.
We are working to develop an inclusive workforce in film and television and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups, particularly those from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds or those who consider themselves disabled.
A passion for making a career in feature films is the main criteria we are looking for in all applicants.
Places are limited - early applications are encouraged and will be considered before the deadline. Application deadline is midday on 7th November 2018. Applicants will be notified on or before 12th November 2018.
Training will take place on Monday 26th November 2018.
This training course is supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the British Film Institute (BFI) as part of the Future Film Skills programme.
